Supreme Pizza

What you’ll Need

For the Crust

3 1/4 Cups of All Purpose Flour (1/4 Cup is added AFTER you mix the dough the first time)

2 teaspoons of salt

1 Large Egg (Room Temp)

1 Cup Warm Water

1 Package Instant or Active Dry Yeast

1 teaspoon of Sugar (To feed the yeast)

1/2 Stick of Salted Butter (Melted) You can Substitute the Butter for Olive oil if you like

For the Garlic Butter Mixture to go on top of crust

Parmesan Cheese

1/2 Stick of Salted Butter (Melted)

4 Cloves Garlic (Chopped until minced)

Seasonings and Toppings

1 Yellow Onion

1 Green Bell Pepper

1 Red Bell Pepper

1 Small Can of Black Olives

4 Cloves Garlic (Already included for the crust)

One 6 Ounce Package of Pepperoni Slices.

1 Pound of Italian Sausage

Parsley (Optional)

Parmesan Cheese (You will be using this ingredient twice)

One 14 Ounce jar Pizza Sauce.OR you can use your favorite pizza sauce recipe

One 8 Ounce Package of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (If you want more cheese then you will need another 8 ounces)

Tools You’ll Need

Stand Mixer or a large spoon

One 16 Inch ROUND Pizza Pan

Rolling pin

Plastic Wrap (OPTIONAL) (This will be placed on top of the table. This helps placing your pizza crust onto the top of your pizza pan very easy and it also makes for an easy clean up.

Making The Crust

Step 1- In a large bowl Add 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour and salt. Mix well

Step 2- In a small bowl Add 1 Cup Warm Water and the entire package on Yeast (1/4 Ounce) and mix well. Once Done add 1 teaspoon of sugar and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. After 10 to 15 minutes the mixture should be bubbly and foamy.

Step 3- Melt 1/2 Stick of salted butter

Step 4- Add the yeast mixture (AFTER letting the mixture sit for 15 minutes), The Salted butter (Melted) and 1 egg at room temperature. Mix for 4 minutes (Stand Mixers ONLY) If you are using a spoon, it could take much longer.

Step 5- IF your dough is slightly sticky then you’re going to add 1/4 Cup of All Purpose Flour. Mix for 3 minutes (Stand Mixers ONLY) If you are using a spoon, it could take much longer.

Step 6- Once done add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil into a medium sized bowl and spread it around the bottom and sides of the bowl.

Step 7- Add the dough into the bowl. Cover and let rise for 2 hours (VERY IMPORTANT) Crust will rise depending on the temperature of your kitchen. 80 Degrees is perfect!!!!

Preparation of ingredients

While your dough is rising you can start preparing your ingredients

Step 8- Chop 1 Yellow Onion, 1 Green Bell Pepper. 1 Red Bell Pepper, into bite sized chunks.

Step 9- Chop Garlic until minced. If you decide to use Parsley, then chop it until it’s minced.

Note- Your Pepperoni, Black Olives, and your Pizza Sauce (If you buy the sauce or black olives in a jar or can) are already prepared.  If you are using a recipe for either of these ingredients then make it then proceed to the next step.

Step 10- In a medium sized saucepan PREHEATED to medium high heat Add you Sausage. Stir with spatula and try to break down the sausage into small chunks. It should only take 5 minutes for the sausage to cook.

NOTE- It can take shorter or longer depending on the heat setting on your stove.

Step 11- Place Sausage into strainer with a small pan underneath of catch any drippings

Preparing and placing your crust onto your pizza pan

IF YOU ARE USING PLASTIC WRAP IF YOU ARE NOT USING THE PLASTIC WRAP PROCEED TO STEP 12A BELOW

AFTER 2 hours your crust should Double in size. 

Step 12- Remove lid off of bowl and yeast should have doubled in size.

Step 13- LIGHTLY Flour the surface of your table lined with plastic wrap. Knead 10 times.

Step 14- Form dough into a ball and press down to form a circle.

Step 15- Take your rolling pin and roll dough into an 18-inch circle.

Place pizza pan on top and see if it fits. Dough should be 1 to 2 inches wider in diameter than the pan.

Step 16- Place pizza pan on top of the rolled pizza dough. Take the edges of the plastic wrap and bring it to the center of the pizza pan. Pick up the pizza dough CAREFULLY using the edges of the plastic wrap. FLIP THE PIZZA DOUGH ONTO THE OTHER SIDE. Once done remove the plastic wrap and discard and you’re done. PROCEED TO STEP 17

IF YOU ARE NOT USING THE PLASTIC WRAP

AFTER 2 hours your crust should Double in size. 

Step 12A- Remove lid off of bowl and yeast should have doubled in size.

Step 13A- GENEROUSLY Flour the surface of your table. Knead 10 times.

Step 14A- Form dough into a ball and press down to form a circle.

Step 15A- Take your rolling pin and roll dough into an 18-inch circle.

Place pizza pan on top and see if it fits. Dough should be 1 to 2 inches wider in diameter than the pan. 

Step 16A- Pick pizza dough up with your hands and CAREFULLY place pizza dough on top of the pizza pan. DOUGH should not completely stick to the table.

Step 17- Trim any excessive edges off of the ends of the pizza dough using either a knife or kitchen scissors. Dough should be at least 1 inch wider than the pizza pan.

Step 18- Roll ends of Pizza Dough into itself going towards the center of the crust

Step 19- Tuck under the ends.

Step 20- Press back onto the edge of the pizza pan.

PREPARING THE GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE

Step 21- Place 1/2 stick of melted salted butter and 4 cloves of chopped garlic into a food processor and blend for 1 minute.

Step 22- Using a brush GENTLY brush the garlic butter sauce onto the edges and on top of the pizza crust. NOTE- Save the rest to brush the crust again after it has baked in the oven

PREHEAT OVEN TO 425-DEGREES

ASSEMBLING YOUR PIZZA

Step 23- Add your pizza sauce onto your pizza dough. Spread around the dough with a spoon.

Step 24- Lightly Sprinkle Parmesan Cheese on top of the pizza sauce and onto the actual pizza crust

Step 25- Generously Sprinkle the entire 8 ounces of Mozzarella Cheese. REMEMBER IF YOU WANT to add more cheese you will need another 8 ounces.

Step 26- Add your Chopped Onion, Red and Green Bell Peppers and black olives on top of the Mozzarella cheese in that order. Add as much as you like.

Step 27- Add your Sausage Followed by your pepperoni.

Step 28- Place pizza into a PREHEATED 425-degree Oven and let bake for 20 minutes. CRUST SHOULD BE A LIGHT GOLDEN-BROWN COLOR. 

Step 29- Once finished baking take pizza out of oven

Step 30- Generously Brush the garlic butter on top of the crust.

Step 31- Serve HOT and enjoy!!!!! 🙂
