What you’ll need
14.5 ounces blue crab puree, lump or claw crab meat
2 eight-ounce packages cream cheese (Room temp)
Mayonnaise
1 lemon
Salted butter
Shredded Parmesan cheese
Pepper jack cheese
Seasonings
Green onion
Garlic
Salt
Black pepper
Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning
Granulated garlic
Smoked paprika.
French bread (5 ounces in weight), chips, or crackers (Of your choosing)

Preparation of ingredients
Seasonings
Step 1- Chop 4 ounces in weight of green onions including the ends. Separate the green portion of the green onions from the green onion ends (Scallions).
Step 2- Press or chop 2 cloves of garlic with a knife or garlic press and set aside.
Cheese
Step 3- Shredd 5 ounces in weight of pepper jack cheese using the cheese shredder. Place into fridge until ready to use.
Cooking the crab dip
Preheat fire to medium heat.
Step 4- Add 2 tablespoons salted butter, and chopped green onion ends into a large saucepan. Stir all ingredients together. Let sauté for 2 to 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
Step 5- Add chopped or pressed garlic, 14.5 ounces in weight blue crab puree, lump or claw crab meat. 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning, and 1/4 or 1/8 teaspoon smoked paprika. Stir all ingredients together. Let simmer for 2 to 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
Step 6- Add 2 eight-ounce packages cream cheese (Room temp), 1/4 cup mayonnaise and 1 or 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese 1/8 teaspoon Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning, and 1/8 teaspoon smoked paprika. Cut 1 lemon in half and squeeze half of a lemon (2 tablespoons) lemon juice into the crab dip. Stir all ingredients together until combined. Let simmer for 3 to 4 minutes stirring occasionally. Let cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Assembling the crab dip
Step 7- Add cooked crab dip into a 9-inch round pie pan or casserole dish. Sprinkle 5 ounces shredded parmesan cheese and chopped green onions on top of the crab dip.
Baking or broiling the crab dip.
Note- If you are broiling the crab dip, set your oven broiler to high. If you are baking the crab dip, preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Broiling
Step 8- Place crab dip into the broiler part of your oven for 2 to 3 minutes or until the cheese melts and a light golden brown on top.
Be sure to check every minute to ensure the dip doesn’t burn at the top.
Baking
Step 8A-Place into a preheated 375-degree oven on the middle rack. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese melts and a light golden brown on top.
French bread
Note- If you are using already made chips, or crackers, you don’t have to follow the steps below.
Step 9- Slice French bread into slices. Place them onto an 11 by 17-inch baking pan.
Step 10- Melt 2 to 3 tablespoons salted butter and add 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic into a small skillet and stir. Dap the garlic butter mixture onto each slice of bread.
Step 11- Place into the broiler part of your oven for 1 minute checking every 30 seconds to ensure the bread doesn’t burn at the top. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
