Makes 4 to 6 sandwiches

What you’ll need
1- and 1/2-pounds ground beef chuck
4 to 6 hamburger buns (Link to the recipe is at the bottom)
Tomato paste
Worcestershire sauce
Sugar
Salted butter
Seasonings
1 yellow onion (Medium size)
1 Green bell pepper (Medium size)
Garlic
Salt
Black pepper
Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning
Chef Paul’s Poultry magic
Chili powder
Dried oregano
Dried Basil
Dried Thyme
Preparation of ingredients
Seasonings
Step 1- Chop half of a yellow onion and 1/2 of a green bell pepper. Make sure you rinse the bell pepper off and remove the core out of the center of the bell pepper before you chop it. Press 2 gloves of garlic using a garlic press and set aside.
Tomato sauce
Step 2-Add 6 ounces in weight, that’s the entire 6 ounce can of tomato paste and 2/3 cup water into a medium sized bowl. Stir all ingredients together until combined with a whisk and set aside.
Ground beef
Preheat fire to medium heat.
Step 3- Add 1- and 1/2-pounds ground beef chuck and 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon salt into a large saucepan. Make sure you heat your saucepan for 1 to 2 minutes before adding the ground beef. Stir all ingredients together. Let sauté for 6 to 8 minutes stirring occasionally. Make sure you take a spoon or spatula and break down the large pieces of ground beef during those 6 to 8 minutes as well.
Step 4- Add cooked ground beef into a mesh strainer with a shallow pan underneath it to catch the pan drippings. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the pan drippings to add into the filling later.
Sloppy Joe filling
Preheat fire to medium heat.
Step 5- Add 1 tablespoon ground beef pan drippings, and 1 tablespoon salted butter into a large saucepan. Make sure you heat the saucepan for 1 to 2 minutes before adding the fat. From there add 1 and 1/4 cups chopped yellow onion and 2/3 cup chopped green bell pepper. Stir all ingredients together. Let sauté for 6 to 8 minutes stirring occasionally.
Step 6- Add 2 cloves pressed garlic, cooked ground beef chuck, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon chef Paul’s poultry magic, 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/4 teaspoon dried basil, 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, and 1 teaspoon chili powder. Stir all ingredients together.
Step 7- Add tomato sauce, 1 or 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 2 teaspoons ground beef pan drippings. Stir all ingredients together. Let simmer for 3 to 4 minutes stirring occasionally. Once the cooking time has ended turn your fire off and let the filling cool for 15 to 2 minutes.
Assembling your sandwich
Step 8- Add the filling onto the bottom portion of your hamburger bun. You can toast and spread butter or mayo onto your hamburger buns before you add the filling. Place the top portion of the hamburger bun on top of the filling and press down slightly. Afterwards the sloppy Joe sandwiches are ready to be served.
