What you’ll need

1 16oz package fresh strawberries

White Sugar

1 lemon

Tools you’ll need

Medium sized pot

Bowl and mesh Strainer

Before we begin make sure you wash your hands!!!!

Preparation of ingredients

Step 1 Clean Strawberries. Remove stems off strawberries and place them in a strainer. NOTE: Make sure you check each strawberry for any signs of discoloration or mold.

Step 2 Rinse strawberries with cold water thoroughly and place them back into the plastic crate in which your strawberries came in. If you don’t have it then place strawberries in a medium sized bowl.

Step 3 Place Strawberries in the freezer overnight. 10 hours to be exact. NOTE: I freeze my strawberries up to 2 days before making my sauce. i do it WAYY ahead of time before I make or use them for a dessert.

Step 4 After 10 hours remove strawberries from freezer and place inside a bowl to thaw. It should take up to 4 to 5 hours for the strawberries to thaw completely depending on the temperature of your kitchen.

NOTE: If you want the strawberries to thaw out faster then use your defrost mode on your microwave. 10 minutes on defrost mode.

Step 5 Strawberries should be defrosted now. When you pick a strawberry up and press it will be very soft and the bowl will be have some strawberry liquid in it. Do NOT throw liquid away. Keep it as it will be used later.

Step 6 Place strawberries in a food processor and blend for 3 minutes or until mixture is WELL combined.

Step 7 In a medium sized pot preheat fire to medium high heat and add strawberry mixture.

Step 8 REMEMBER that strawberry liquid that i told you to save. Add that into the pot and mix.

Step 9 Add 1 1/2 Cups White Sugar and mix

Step 10 Over a mesh strainer squeeze 1 half of a lemon into your strawberry sauce. Mix. NOTE: If you happen to add too much lemon juice into your strawberry sauce DON’T PANIC. Yes the taste of your strawberry sauce maybe bitter BUT once you finish making it and let it sit in the fridge over night the flavors will settle and the bitter flavor will go away leaving your strawberry sauce with a GOOD flavor.

Step 10 Bring mixture to a boil. Let boil for 6 minutes. NOTE strawberry sauce can boil over your pot so you must keep a watch eye out for it and keep stirring it. Also the longer you boil your strawberry sauce the thicker it will become.

Step 11 After 6 minutes turn your fire off and let mixture cool for about 10 minutes

Step 12 Using a mesh strainer strain strawberry sauce.

Step 13 Let Strawberry sauce cool in the fridge overnight. and the next day it’ll be ready to be used. It is important to let it cool overnight so that the flavors can settle and the sauce can thicken.

Serve over Ice Cream or use it to make or decorate whatever treat you make.
