Step 1- Add 3 to 4 ounces in weight of the Walnuts, pecans, almonds, vanilla and chocolate sandwich cookies, white or chocolate morsels individually into a food processor. Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute each. Place each topping into their own individual containers. If you are using the white or milk chocolate morsels, place into fridge after blending to make sure the chocolate doesn’t melt.
Strawberries
Note- Strawberries must be at room temperature.
Step 2- Add 2 to 4 pounds fresh strawberries (Room temperature) into a strainer and rinse with cold water. Pat each strawberry dry with napkins and place into a medium to large bowl and set aside.
Melting the chocolate
Note- If you are dipping 1 or 2 pounds of fresh strawberries, you only need to use half of the 12-ounce bag of the chocolate morsels. If you are dipping 3-to-4-pound fresh strawberries, use the entire bag of chocolate morsels. Also keep in mind that it also depends on the size of the strawberries will determine how much chocolate you will need to use. The vegetable or canola oil will give the chocolate a smoother appearance and the chocolate will not taste like oil just in case you were wondering.
Preheat fire to medium heat.
Step 3- Add 1 1/2 or 2 cups water into a 1- or 2-quart pot and let come to a simmer.
Milk Chocolate Morsels
Step 4- Add half or the entire bag of milk chocolate morsels into a stainless-steel bowl and place the bowl over the small pot of simmering water and stir with a silicone spatula until the milk chocolate melts. Once the milk chocolate melts, add 1 1/2 or 2 teaspoons vegetable or canola oil into the milk chocolate and stir until combined. The oil will give the milk chocolate a smoother appearance and the milk chocolate will not taste like oil just in case you were wondering.
White Chocolate morsels
Note- The white chocolate will be thicker than the milk chocolate when melted. As the white chocolate cools, it will become thinner.
Step 5- Add half or the entire bag of White chocolate morsels into a stainless-steel bowl and place the bowl over the small pot of simmering water and stir with a silicone spatula until the White chocolate melts. If you’re having a hard time getting the white chocolate to melt, add 1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil and stir. This will help the chocolate melt and mix together. Once the White chocolate melts, add 1 or 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil into the White chocolate and stir until combined. The oil will give the white chocolate a smoother appearance and the chocolate will not taste like oil just in case you were wondering.
Keeping the melted chocolate warm
Note- If the water in the tubber ware bowls gets cold, remove the stainless-steel bowls and reheat the water the tubber ware bowls and repeat step 6 again.
Step 6- Add 2 cups warm or hot water into 2 separate tubber ware bowls. Add the stainless-steel bowls with the chocolate in it, into the tubber ware bowls and let it sit for 5 minutes. Stir each bowl with a spatula and set aside.
Dipping and coating the strawberries
Notes- Make sure the strawberries are dry and at room temperature. No cold strawberries can be used as you will mess up the chocolate. In step 8, you will have 2 options on what to do with the strawberry after it’s dipped into the melted chocolate.
Picture demonstrations of how to do the decorations are below.
Step 7- Add sheet of parchment paper into an 11 by 17-inch baking pan. You will set the strawberries on this after they are coated.
Step 8- Pick up each strawberry by its stem and dip each individual strawberry into either the Milk or White chocolate. Once you remove the strawberry from the chocolate, carefully shake the strawberry to remove some of the chocolate. Once the chocolate stops dripping from the strawberry, you can add the coated strawberries into an 11 by 17-inch baking pan or dip it into the crumbled topping of your choosing and then add it onto an 11 by 17-inch baking pan. Drizzle the white or the milk chocolate onto the strawberries that are coated with the chocolate only. You can also leave the strawberry as is dipped in chocolate.
Step 9- Let the chocolate coating set for 20 to 25 minutes. If there’s no chocolate on your finger, the chocolate has set. Place coated strawberries into fridge to 10 to 15 minutes for a more faster chocolate setting.
Step 10- To serve add coated strawberries into an airtight container or gift box and place into fridge to 2 to 4 hours or overnight before serving. Keep coated strawberries in fridge at all times. Allow 20 to 30 minutes after removing the coated strawberries from fridge to serve.
