What you’ll need
10 Medium-sized Taco shells
1-pound lean ground beef
Salted butter
Tomato Paste
Crystal hot sauce
Sour cream
Shredded lettuce (Rinsed)
1 large tomato or 1 can diced tomatoes
Sliced black olives
Shredded Pepper jack and cheddar cheeses
Seasonings
1 yellow onion
Green bell pepper
Red bell pepper
Garlic
Salt
Black pepper
Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning
Chef Paul’s Poultry magic
Granulated onion
Granulated garlic
Mesquite seasoning
Chili powder
Ground Cumin
Crushed red pepper flakes
Dried thyme
Preparation of ingredients
Seasonings and veggies
Step 1- Chop 1/2 of a yellow onion, 1/2 of a green bell pepper, 1/2 of a red bell pepper, and 2 cloves garlic. Cut 1 large tomato in half and remove the insides of the tomato using a spoon. Diced the outsides of the tomato halves. Rinse the Green and red bell peppers and the tomato before chopping.
Chili ground beef filling
Preheat fire to medium heat.
Step 2- Add ground beef and 1/4 teaspoon salt into a large saucepan. Stir and let sauté for 6 to 8 minutes stirring occasionally. Turn fire off. Add into a mesh strainer with a shallow bowl underneath it. The pan juices will be used to sauté for the seasonings.
Preheat fire to medium heat.
Step 3- Add 1 tablespoon pan juices, and 1 tablespoon salted butter, 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion, 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper, 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper, into a large saucepan. Let sauté for 6 to 8 minutes stirring occasionally.
Step 4- Add 2 or 3 teaspoons pressed garlic, ground beef, 1/3 cup tomato paste, 1 or 2 tablespoons hot sauce, 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning, 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon chef Paul’s poultry magic, 1/2 teaspoon granulated onion, 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic, 1/2 teaspoon mesquite seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, 2 teaspoons ground cumin, 3 teaspoons chili powder, and 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme. Stir all ingredients together and let sauté for 2 minutes. Turn fire off and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Preparing the Taco shells
Preheat oven to 325-degrees.
Step 5- Add the taco shells on an 11 by 17-inch baking pan. Place into a preheated 325-degree oven for 6 to 7 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
Assembling the Tacos
Step 6- Add the beef chili sauce, sour cream, shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and black olives into the 10 taco shells and serve.
