Corn and Rice with Smoked Sausage

What you’ll need

5 cans of Cream style corn

1 Onion Chopped

Sugar

Salted or Unsalted butter

Rice

1 pound of Louisiana made D&D Smoked Sausage

PREPARE ALL INGREDIENTS

Step 1- Chop 1 Yellow Onion

Step 2- Chop 2 pounds of Louisiana made D&D Smoked Sausage. Chop into 3/16ths of an inch slices.

COOKING THE RICE

Step 3- Preheat fire to medium high heat. In a medium sized pot filled with cold water. Let water come to a boil.

Step 4- Add 1 1/2 cups of rice. Stir and let boil for about 8 minutes.

Step 5- After 7 minutes of boiling taste rice to see if it’s the texture you want.

Step 6- Add rice into strainer and rinse off with cold water. Place strainer back on top of pot and put a lid on top and let it sit until it’s ready to eat.

Preheat fire to medium high heat

Step 5. In a large saucepan, add 1/2 stick of unsalted butter. Let butter melt

Step 6- Add 1 1/3 Cups of chopped onion and sauté for 7 minutes.

Step 7- Add 2 pounds of Smoked Sausage and sauté for 2 minutes. 

Step 8- Add 1/2 Cup of sugar and stir. Sugar should dissolve on it’s own.

Step 9- Open all 5 cans of Cream Style Corn and add into saucepan with Smoked sausage in it. Stir and let come to a slight simmer.

Step 9 Add 4 tablespoons of salted or unsalted butter. Cover and let simmer for 8 minutes.

Step 10 Serve hot over rice and enjoy!!!! 🙂
