measuring cup

measuring spoons

plastic wrap

13X9 inch glass or metal pan

MAKING YOUR BISCUIT DOUGH

Step 1 Add 2 1/2 Cups of Self Rising Flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix until well combined.

Step 2 Add 1 1/2 Sticks of Slightly cold Salted Butter and cut into flour using pastry blender. Once finished it will resemble course crumbs.

Step 3 Add 1 cup of Buttermilk and mix with large spoon until mixture becomes a dough. NOTE: Dough will be slightly sticky at first but you will keep mixing it until it’s no longer sticky.

Step 4 knead for about 20 seconds while in the bowl. Afterwards place plastic wrap on top of your bowl and place in freezer for 10 minutes.

Step 5 While dough is in the fridge take and half stick of salted butter and place into microwave until it melts. Later on this melted butter will be used to brush your biscuit off with butter when they are done.

Step 6 After 10 minutes remove dough out of fridge. Discard plastic wrap and checkĀ on dough. Dough should be slightly firm but soft on the inside.

Step 7 Preheat oven to 450 Degrees.

Step 8 Line plastic wrap along the top of your table. If you don’t want to use the platic wrap then that’s fine. Just make sure that your table is CLEAN.

Step 9 Take your biscuit dough and place it on top of your table.

Step 10 Press dough down onto table and form the shape of a rectangle. Dough should be 1/2 inch in thickness.

Step 11 Using a 3 inch in diameter or smaller Biscuit cutter, cut biscuits and place into a butter greased pan. NOTE: If you are using a smaller biscuit cutter like a 2 inch. You will have more biscuits than what the recipe call for.

Step 12 Place biscuits in a preheated 450 degree oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 13 After 20 minutes remove pan of biscuits out of oven. NOTE: if you are having a problem with your biscuits turning brown at the top, place them into the BROILER part of your oven and let sit for about 1 minute. IF biscuits are still not all the way browned after 1 minute then place back into the broiler and let sit for 30 seconds.

Step 14 Brush Biscuits off with butter using a pastry brush.

Serve hot or warm and enjoy!!!!
