What you’ll need
All Purpose Flour
Sugar
Unsalted butter
Shortening (Regular or butter flavored)
Large eggs (Room temp)
Baking powder
Baking soda
Vanilla extract
Cinnamon
All spice
Ginger
Cloves
15oz Can pure pumpkin
Evaporated Milk
Cream cheese (Room temp)
Non-stick baking spray
23×13 cm Loaf pan
***You can mix this with a mixer or with a sturdy spoon***
Preparation of ingredients
Step 1- Add 2 1/4 Cups All-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Stir all ingredients together.
Step 2- In a separate bowl add 1 stick unsalted butter (Room temp), 1/2 Cup shortening and 1 3/4 Cup sugar. Mix on medium low speed for 2 minutes.
Step 3- Add 2 Large eggs (Room temp) Mix until well combined.
Step 4- Add 1 Cup Pure Pumpkin and 1/4 cup evaporated milk. Mix until well combined.
Step 5- Add 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 Teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon spice, 1/2 teaspoon ginger,1/4 teaspoon cloves. Mix all ingredients together.
Step 6- Add dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix with a spoon until well combined.
***Spray your baking pan with non-stick baking spray***
***Preheat your oven to 350 degrees***
Making your Cream cheese filling
Step 7- In a separate bowl add 8 ounces cream cheese, 1 egg yolk, 1/2 Cup sugar, 3 tablespoons flour and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix all ingredients together until well combined.
Filling your loaf pan *Important steps*
Step 8- Add half of your bread batter into the loaf pan. Spread bread batter around pan as evenly as possible.
Step 9- Add Cream cheese filling on top of your bread batter. Spread cream cheese filling on top of bread batter as evenly as possible.
Step 10- Carefully add the 2nd half of your bread batter on top of your cream cheese filling. Carefully spread bread batter on top of your cream cheese filling as evenly as possible. Make sure you cover the entire layer of cream cheese filling with the bread batter
Step 11- Place into a preheated 350-degree oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Step 12- After 1 hour and 20 minutes, remove your Pumpkin bread out of the oven. Insert a toothpick and it should come out clean. If it does not come out clean, place pumpkin bread back into oven and let bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 13- After baking let your pumpkin bread cool for 5 hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to settle and come together.
Step 14- Slice your pumpkin bread into bread slices. There should be a layer of pumpkin bread on the bottom and top of the bread and a thin layer of cream cheese filling. The Cream cheese filling will be thick!
Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
