What you’ll need
Cake Flour
All-purpose flour
Sugar
Salt
Baking soda
Unsalted butter (Room temp)
Large eggs (Room temp)
Whole milk (Room temp)
Sour cream (Room temp)
Vanilla extract
Butter extract

9-inch round pie or cake pan
Food processor

Preparation of ingredients
Streusel topping
Step 1- Add 2/3 cup All-purpose flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (Cold), and 1/8 teaspoon salt into a food processor. Blend or pulse for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Step 2- Bring mixture together with your hands and crumble it into a small bowl. Place into fridge until ready to be added on top of the cake batter.
Dry ingredients (Cake flour mixture)
Step 3- Sift 1 1/4 cups cake flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt into a medium-sized bowl. Stir all ingredients together and set aside.
Wet ingredients (Milk and sour cream mixture)
Step 4- Add 2/3 cup whole milk (Room temp), 1/2 cup sour cream (Room temp), 1 1/2 teaspoons butter extract, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon cake batter extract, and dip a tooth pick into yellow gel paste food coloring and swirl the toothpick into the liquid. Stir all ingredients together with a whisk until combined.
Cake batter
Step 5- Add 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter (Softened and at Room temp) and 1 cup sugar into stand mixer bowl fitted with paddle attachment. Mix on high speed for 4 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl.
Step 6- Add 2 large eggs (Room temp) one at a time while mixing on a medium speed.
Step 7- Add the Cake flour mixture and the milk and sour cream mixture into the batter 2 separate times. Mix on a medium low speed for 15 to 20 seconds or until combined each time. Scrape down sides of bowl.
Spray baking pan with Baker’s joy non-stick baking spray
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 8- Add prepared cake batter into baking pan. Spread around as evenly as possible using the back of a spoon. Shake the pan to make the batter more even.
Step 9- Sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon on top of the cake batter. Swirl the cinnamon into the batter. Spread batter around pan as evenly as possible with a spoon. Shake the pan to make the batter more even. Generously sprinkle Streusel topping on top of cake batter.
Step 10- Place into a preheated 325-degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove cake from oven. Let cool for 2 to 3 hours before removing out of the pan or before serving. You can also leave the cake in the pan and serve it as is.
